The word intentional gets used a lot. It can start to sound like decoration.
So here is what I mean when I use it.
Intentional is not the same as strict
It doesn’t mean tracking every peso or refusing every pleasure. Strictness is often a way of avoiding decisions, because rules replace thinking.
Intentional means you can say why you’re doing something. Why this policy. Why this amount. Why this yes, and that no.
The three steps
It runs through everything on this site:
Understand. See what’s real: what you own, what you owe, what you’ve been told, what you believe.
Decide. Choose with that clarity, not under pressure or from imitation.
Build. Put systems in place so the decision keeps working when life gets loud.
Skipping the first step is the usual mistake. People try to build before they understand, and wonder why it doesn’t last.
What it isn’t
- A promise of quick results.
- A judgement of anyone’s choices.
- A product pitch dressed as advice.
What you can expect here
Plain language. Honest limits. Practical steps you can take this week. Disclosure of how advisors earn, where it matters. And an assumption that you’re intelligent and capable of deciding for yourself.
What I ask of you
Be curious. Question what you read here, including this. Take what fits and leave the rest.
If one idea helps you make one clearer decision, that’s the point.
Start wherever you are. That’s always the right place.
